That’s My Goal

Happy 2010!

Have you all made and messed up your New Year’s resolutions already? I have. One of my resolutions was to get back to blogging and to blog something every day in 2010. I already missed January 1st. Oh well, the psychologist on TV said to get right back on the horse. “Every day’s another opportunity to make a change!” exclaimed the doctor.

Right! That’s what I’m going to do! Hooray for equestrian psychology!

The only New Year’s resolution I’ve ever been able to keep is to not make one in the first place. This year, one of my super positive, list making, ambitious friends persuaded  me to think of them as “goals” for the year. They don’t have to happen today and they certainly don’t have to be an every day event.

I made a list because it works for her.

I will blog more in 2010. This won’t be hard to beat because I let my blog go to the crapper in 2009. I love my blog and I love writing, so this shouldn’t be too hard to accomplish.

I will try to do more things for me. My entire days have become doing things for other people and sitting in cars waiting to transport other people to and from whatever it is they are doing. This is incredibly dull, even with my new Sony Reader Touch. (which I LOVE!)

I will get a new job. That is a must because in April, I won’t have my current one anymore. I am adding “that I enjoy doing” to the above goal because I’ve lost patience for boring work, being stuck in a room all day a single crazy ass coworker and being yelled at all day by customers. My new job will have none of those things.

The crazy ass coworkers have also spurred Goal #4 which is to dump anyone who even remotely resembles an emotional vampire to me. If, after every time I speak to you, I feel as though I need to stick a spike through my forehead to relieve the pressure, you will be going directly to voicemail from now on.

And, finally, Goal #5. I will make more frequent use of the Catboots. Not that they haven’t made appearances in the past years, but I’ve typically saved them for major events so people don’t think I’m, you know, bitchy. This year I will not care about that. I’m not getting any younger after all.

How about you? What are some of your 2010 goals?

I’ve made no resolutions, but a “goal” is to blog less and live more! I’m just sayin’ :-)
