(I had no idea Thursday Thirteen was still around. I am thrilled!!!)
It was inevitable. With three teenage daughters, I knew eventually one of them would want a Halloween costume that I’d have to say no to. It wasn’t a complete shock when Little Daughter (15) informed me that she wanted to be a Playboy Bunny for Halloween.
Gee, let me think for a minute. Ummmm, no.
“But, Mommmmm!” she pleaded until I cut her off.
“BUTT, exactly” I said. “I don’t want to see any boobs, butts or bellybuttons and you’re not dressing up representing a magazine you’re not even old enough to buy. Sorry.”

It’s not just my kids, either. Yesterday, Little Daughter went shopping with a friend who tried to slip this “Busted” costume past her mother even though my daughter tried to tell her it was too skanky. Friend’s mom took one look and probably screamed the equivalent of “Busted” in Polish because Friend promptly put the costume back.
I will say that it is very hard to find costumes for teenage girls that aren’t inappropriate, revealing or worse, crotchless. Charming. It seems witches, ghosts and vampires have been replaced with…
13 other characters that probably do more than just go bump in the night…
1. Robyn Da Hood- A Chicago based hoochie who steals drinks from rich guys and give them to her underprivileged homies.

2. Mary Christmas- You know Dasher and Santa’s Personal Lap Dancer, no?

3. Miss Hellen Back- Is this what Dan Brown had in mind when he wrote Angels and Demons?

4. Shore Thing Sandy- Sandy loves to ride the waves and whatever else she comes across on the beach.
5. Yanida Heartcheck- No, Yanida Some Pants.

6. Anita Sedative- Me, too! 7 more to go!
7. Anita Partner- Of course she does! There’s not enough room for the nightstick in that getup!

9. Ivana Bone. Pebbles, is that you? Yabba Dabba Do!
10. May K. Wish- I wished that a decent costume would appear and it did. This is actually cute.
11. Sheila Tackya- Hahahaha! Be careful! She bites!
12. Polly Ester- I always wondered what happened to my favorite go-go girl and disco fabric!
13. And finally, my personal favorite…Pocahottie! Probably no explanation is needed.
