I’m by no means any kind of financial or stock tip expert, but based on last night, I’m willing to proctor a gamble that Puffs tissues won’t be disappearing from your store shelves any time soon.
Last night, Oldest Daughter graduated from high school and I, along with about 2,000 other people, cheered, clapped and busted with pride as our graduated marched in to the traditional Pomp and Circumstance soundtrack. All great moments in life should have musical accompaniment, don’t you think?
Along with the merriment, I also cried. The ceremony started at 7:30 p.m. I started crying around 3:00 in the afternoon and by 7:00, while sitting in the auditorium watching a slide show of pictures taken of the senior class throughout the year, I thought I had reached full weeping willow status. My makeup had already run, my nose was drippy and the ceremony hadn’t even started yet. Little did I, nor my several hundred other mom compadres in attendance, realize the depths of emotions to come.
The procession, the calling of the graduates’ names, their walk across the stage, the handshakes, the switching of the tassel to the opposite site of the cap and when the principal congratulation the class, the ovation and hats in the air from the kids’ themselves were overwhelming to me. By the time it was over, I was no longer a weepy willow, I had resembled something more akin to “swamp thing”. It wasn’t pretty, but it was wonderful.
My “baby” is not a baby any longer. She is a beautiful, talented, well respected young woman and I couldn’t be more proud. I hope I’m ready to let her go be the amazing person that she is. I’m not sure I am and I’m fearful this event may send me into a mid-life crisis. If that happens, I’ll be sure to let you know.
We took a lot of pictures yesterday and I thought I’d share some.

Nothing Better Than A Little Sisterly Love
I’ll be repeating the process (and definitely buying more Puffs) on Wednesday evening when my son graduates from 8th grade. Hug your kids, people. Time goes so fast.

“the ovation and hats in the air” I read that line a million times… for some reason I thought it said “ovulation” and my mind just couldn’t read “ovation” and I was so confused…
I do love the picture of your 4 kids together – that would be awesome blown up!! Best of luck!
